How to Join Student Support Services
About half of Northwestern State's student qualify for Student Support Services; the program selects about 100 new students each year. Students are selected to join Student Supoort Services after completing an application and an interview. Students must meet at least one, and preferably two of the following requirements for entry:
First generation, meaning neither parent graduated with a bachelor's degree from college;
Low Income, indicated as 150% of the Federal poverty level for an individual or a family; or
Disabled, referring to a physical or mental disability as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Students must also have an academic need in order to be selected.
Applications for the Student Support Services program are available throughout the year on the Natchitoches Campus in 243 Kyser Hall or by downloading here.
